‘None of you [truly] believes until he loves for his brother what he loves for himself.’
[Sahih Al Bukhari]
Each year, the brutal cold season brings hardships for poor families trying to survive with limited protection resources as freezing winds, subzero temperatures, torrential rains, heavy snowfall and bitter cold push up survival costs, making it costlier to survive the harsh winter season.
For impoverished and displaced families winter is a difficult time to survive and stay warm from the freezing conditions in the winter as they have to choose between eating a meal or staying warm and reduce the health risks particularly for young children, sick people and elderly persons.
Over the years, Winter Aid project continued to be a life-line for the marginalized families and those surviving in chronic poverty in Pakistan as through winterization project, UWT (Pak) ensured adequate winter protection, warmth and comfort for the less-protected families by distributing well-resourced winter kits among the beneficiaries before the winter season allowing them to protect their families from the worst of the freezing cold.
