Persons with disabilities in poverty remain among the most-marginalized people on earth as many live isolated lives, away from education, health-care and other vital services.
Their hardships are often worsened sadly by the ignorance that prevails in their communities regarding people with disabilities.
Families and particularly caregivers of persons with disabilities are always gravely concerned about the health situation of their families members with special needs as they had to undergo immense physical and mental stress as a result of neglect and repeated mistreatment by some of their families members and society.
With UWT (Pak) Remove the Obstacles Campaign, over the years through implemented projects, lost mobility for the people with specific needs been restored with provision of wheelchairs, commode chairs, white-cane and crutches where the provision of assistive devices effectively assisted the benefited people with specific needs to reduce their dependency on their family members and caregivers.
Alhamdulillah, UWT (Pak) will distribute 860 Wheelchairs under Mobility Support Project for the year 2022 among people with specifics needs.
Until Now, 665 wheelchairs have been distributed in Karachi—Sindh and Nowshera | Mardan | Charsadda | Peshawar—Khyber Pakhtunkhwa region of Pakistan.
