Feedback: Qurbani 2016
Alhamdulillah, Ummah Welfare Trust Pakistan spent 130 million PKR on this year’s Qurbani programme. Through the generosity of donors, 2,219 large animals and 3,600 small animals were sacrificed.
Preparations for the slaughtering of these animals took place many weeks before the days of sacrifice. Animals were purchased in advance from several cattle markets across Pakistan. These were well fed and look after till the days of Eid.
Slaughtering and the distribution of meat started immediately after Eid salaah and, given the volume of animals, continued till the third day of Eid.
Alhamdulillah the meat of these animals was distributed in poor Muslim communities across Afghanistan, Pakistan and Kashmir. A total of 58,780 families enjoyed fresh Udhiyyah.
Ummah Welfare Trust Pakistan slaughtered 2800 small animals and 1550 large animals for vulnerable families across South Afghanistan.
Alhamdulillah, fresh Udhiyyah was distributed across rural Kandahar, Ghazni, Nangahar, Badakhshan and Afghan refugees’ families inside Pakistan.
A large Qurbani programme took place for Kashmir’s needy residents this year. The meat of 220 small animals and 210 large animals was distributed to families in the districts of Muzaffarabad, Bagh and Kotli.
Over 1,000 animals were sacrificed in Pakistan’s mainland. Four hundred and sixty large animals and 575 small animals in total were slaughtered in Nowshera, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and Layyah, Punjab. A smaller programme also took place in the isolated South Waziristan region.
Alhamdulillah meat was distributed to thousands of poor families across the provinces of KPK, Punjab and Sindh.
