As Allah’s Word, the status of the Qur’an is unrivalled. It is the basis of all religious learning, and, for this reason, Muslims from the dawn of Islam have striven preserve it and expound its meanings.
The Messenger of Allah SalalAllahu ‘alayhi wasallam emphasised the importance of teaching the Noble Book, stating, ‘The best amongst you is the one who learns the Quran and teaches it,’ (Sahih al-Bukhari).
As part of its education drive, Ummah Welfare Trust supports the Islamic tradition of memorising the Qur’an by sponsoring hifdh students in Pakistan, Afghanistan.
Under Ummah Welfare Trust (Pak) initiated Hifdh Sponsorship project for the year 2017-18, 61 Hifdh Teachers of Pakistan (51) and Afghanistan (10) been assisted to easily support their families and provide their valuable teaching support to the enrolled students who are completing their Hifdh courses at the sponsored Hifdh Classes as the registered Hifdh Teachers received a monthly stipend of £100 as financial support.
1,211 Hidfh Students also received a monthly stipend of £10 as adequate financial support.
