With an estimated population of over 180 million, one in three people in Pakistan live in poverty. It hosts more than 1.7 million refugees, one of the largest refugee populations in the world. The day to day grind for millions in Pakistan has been further compounded in recent years by floods, earthquakes and landslides.
Some 73 million Pakistanis – 41% of the population – live below the poverty line. Soaring food prices, civil unrest and repeated natural disasters are some of the factors that have crippled this complex nation.
Giving to the most needed project is a highly recommended method since it allows Ummah Welfare Trust to allocate funds as and when they are needed according to urgency.
