Braille Quran Appeal 2017/1438

The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said:
‘Allah, the Glorious and Exalted said: ‘When I afflict my slave in his two dear things (i.e., his eyes), and he endures patiently, I shall compensate him for them with Jannah.’
[Sahih Al Bukhari]

After Imaan in Allah and His Messenger, SallAllahu ‘alayhi wasallam, arguably the greatest gift bestowed upon man is the gift of sight. Its deprivation is amongst the biggest tests that Allah can afflict his slave with, and for this reason, if endured with patience, blindness is a means of Paradise.

Alhamdulillah, blindness, or any visual impairment, has never prevented one from acquiring the ma’rifah of Allah and the knowledge of His religion. Braille Qur’ans today allow visually impaired Muslims across the world to read and study the Book of Allah without hindrance.

Braille is a series of raised dots embossed on a special thick cardboard-like paper. By feeling these dots with the finger, a blind person is able to read the words of Allah, clear and uncorrupted. A Braille Qur’an, which can be printed in just one day, consists of 15 parts (books).

To help our visually impaired brothers and sisters, Ummah Welfare Trust has begun the task of printing and distributing braille Qur’ans free of charge. The charity runs its own braille printing facility in Rawalpindi, Pakistan, from where Qur’ans are produced and distributed to students across the Ummah.

There should not be one visually impaired student who is denied access to the Book of Allah. Ummah Welfare Trust wants to print and distribute Braille Qur’ans freely worldwide, and needs your help in doing so.

For just 6500PKR you can have one Braille Qur’an (with I’raab) printed.
For 10000PKR a Braille Qur’an with an added English or Urdu translation can be printed.

Donate for a Braille Qur’an today, and open the doors of Rahmah by enabling the light of the Holy Qur’an to shine through the fingertips of those brothers and sisters whose lives are shrouded in darkness.
